The IPM personal interview is an integral part of the IPM admission process at IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, and IIM Ranchi. The thought of giving an interview can be nerve-wracking for most students. However, one can easily crack the interview with proper preparation and practice.
But, when should one start the preparation? Should one start the interview preparation along with the IPMAT exam Preparation or after the IPMAT results are out?
The answer to the question is completely up to the student. However, one can start their preparation as early as possible by picking up small habits such as reading newspapers that can help them in answering interview questions and in tackling the verbal ability section in IPMAT.
The questions asked during the IPM interview can be broadly grouped as Personal and extracurricular-based questions, academic questions, GK and current affairs, and curveball questions. Here are some Interview Preparation tips to help you tackle these questions
- Be aware of your surroundings; the panelists would want you to have knowledge of what is happening around the world and particularly in your local area. So, make sure that you are up to date on current affairs.
- Prepare your answers to some frequently asked questions such as tell me about yourself, and why you want to join the IPM course? , what are your strengths and weaknesses, etc. Making sure that you have gone over all such questions will not only increase your confidence but also aids you in providing higher-quality responses during the interview.
